In a roller-coaster of unpredictable weather – with rain, wind and even snow – the sun finally shined for the Silver State Academy Rams, who were awarded their second straight Nevada AA Track and Field Championship in two years. This Championship was sweet for veteran coach Dave Smith as he earned his third in 4 years. Coach Smith developed a very Strong team during the course of the season as the Rams scored in 13 of the 18 total events at the State Track Meet.

The Rams swept the sprints and the relays as speedster Kasey H took home 4 gold medals in the 100 M, 200 M, 4X100, and 4X200. His supporting cast of speedsters, Nigel H, Devontay W, Morland E, Roy K, James A, Desra H, Johnny L, and Lamon W, also scored heavily in the 4X400, the 400 M, and the 200 M races. The Rams efforts in winning the 4X800 M relay, the first event of the day on Saturday, in biting cold and wind, put an exclamation point on their efforts to win the championship.
